Lastolite today rolled out the brand new Hotrod Strip Softbox. Available in two sizes (30cm x 120cm and 40cm x 120cm), the Hotrod Strip Softbox is designed for use with battery-operated flash units. GoPro has rolled out the Battery BacPac for HD Hero Camera. The device works as both a charger for your spare HD Hero batteries and plugs into the back of the 1080p HD Hero camera to nearly double record times. When attached, the BacPac extends video and time-lapse photo record times of the HD Hero camera for up to 5-hour. This battery pack can be recharged via a USB port with the included cable. There is an onboard LED indicators that show charge status. Priced at $49 each, the Battery BacPac comes equipped with a 1100mAh Li-ion battery, one waterproof and one protective door for the HD Hero, and a USB cable.
Pentax has rolled out the limited edition Rilakkuma Pentax K-r DSLR. Priced at $1,150, the camera comes equipped with Pentax’s 18-55mm DA L lens, a proprietary boot-up and shutdown Rilakkuma wallpaper and a two tone of brown color. Rycote has rolled out a new shock mount kit for the Zoom H4n portable audio recorder. The H4n kit consists of a shock mount, a Windjammer for the H4n and a grip extension handle. Samyang has recently introduced their upcoming manual focus lens for the Sony NEX-VG10 camcorder. Known as the Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Fish-Eye CS VG10 lens, this manual focus lens is said to feature “the same optical construction as the still photography version, but has been adapted for smoother focusing.” The lens itself is scheduled to make its official debut at the forthcoming Focus on Imaging fairs held in Birmingham.
