Canon Officially Acknowledges Canon EOS 7D’s Lens ID Issue

Canon has officially announced that certain Canon and Tamron lenses do not work fully with the Canon EOS 7D, EOS 60D, EOS 50D and EOS 40D. It was discovered that these Canon and Tamron lenses use the lens ID, which is not supported by Canon. The following Canon lenses are affected.

* Canon EF 35-80 mm 1:4-5,6
* Canon EF 35-80 mm 1:4-5,6 II
* Canon EF 35-80 mm 1:4-5,6 III
* Canon EF 35-80 mm 1:4-5,6 USM
* Canon EF 35-105 mm 1:4-5,6
* Canon EF 35-105 mm 1:4-5,6 USM
* Canon EF 80-200 mm 1:4,5-5,6 II
* Canon EF 80-200 mm 1:4,5-5,6 USM

The following Tamron lenses are affected.

* Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 VC
* Tamron 60 f/2 Macro
* Tamron 70-200 f/2.8
* Tamron 10-24 f/3.5-4.5

Samsung SH100 Wi-Fi-enabled Digicam Is Now Official In South Korea

The company has officially confirmed the availability of this point-and shoot digital camera in the South Korean market. The Samsung SH100 allows users to upload their images directly to YouTube, Facebook, Picasa, Cyworld and Me2day. What makes the Samsung SH100 unique is that it has the ability to take pictures via a smartphone. Users can use their Samsung Galaxy S smartphone to download the Remote Viewfinder app and control the camera. Sony NEX-3 Digital Camera Discontinued

Sony has decided to discontinue all NEX-3 models in Japan including the NEX-3A, NEX-3K and NEX-3D. As a reminder, the Sony NEX-3 was introduced in June 2010. It features a 14.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, a powerful BIONZ processor, a 3-inch swiveling LCD screen, an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, up to 7 fps continuous shooting, ISO up to 12800, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI output and 720p HD video recording. Five New Samsung NX Lenses

Samsung has announced the availability of five new NX lenses. These lenses include a 18-200mm multi-purpose telephoto zoom, a 16mm ultra wide pancake, a 60mm macro, a 85mm ultra bright portrait and a 16-80mm standard zoom. All of the lenses are compatible with Samsung’s unique i-Function system. These new Samsung NX lenses also feature class-leading technology such as a premium portrait lens and lenses for movie capturing, opening new creative avenues for NX camera users to explore.
